1. Gypsum board curving could be applied both wet and dry process. What is the difference between the 2 processes of curving and which one is recommended? |
| |
Wet curving is an original method. To apply is to use a piece of cloth with a little water or a roller with water roll on a gypsum board and leave it for 5-10 minutes so that the plaster become softer and can be bended. There is a question that which side of the board. The answer is the inner side of the circle. For example, if it is a round partition, we put some water on the front.
Dry curving is a new way using FlexBoard “Elephant” brand. This method can be done faster since it skips the matter of softening board with water. Dry curving also helps avoiding weakening the edge while weeping the board with water, which will affect to strength when screwing. Moreover, FlexBoard is filled-up with a special fiber in order to give more strength for curving. You can see that dry curving with FlexBoard is much more advantageous.

2. Why FlexBoard “Elephant” brand has 6 mm. thick? What is the benefit? |
| |
Since our recommendation thickness of gypsum board for partition is 12 mm., the curving partition therefore has the same thickness. (Some installers still use a 9 mm. gypsum board. The partition will not be enough strong.) I suggest to change for a 12 mm. board to reach the quality standard.
Curving partition is recommended to install with a double layer of 6 mm. FlexBoard that equals to the 12 mm. flat partition. As for ceiling, it could be only a single layer of 6 mm. of FlexBoard instead of 9 mm. standard board because a ceiling does not support the same pressure to a partition.

3. What is the difference between Gypsum System (G) T-bar and Metric System (M) T-bar? |
| |
“G” T-bar is referred only in Thailand. Measure identification is on the gypsum board size basis. While “M” T-bar, the measurement regards to a gap between each T-bar. For example, ceiling tile 60x60 cm. In “G”, the board size equals to 60x60 cm. While “M”, it represents the board size 59.5x59.5 cm. I suggest choosing only 1 system for 1 job (if you don’t want to be headache!) |

4. What is the maximum curve radiance of EchoBloc? |
| |
EchoBloc can be curved as well as a standard board. The radiance can be up to 100 times of its thickness. That is 1.25 meter. The wet curving can be applied by rolling or weeping with a piece of cloth and water.
*Be careful. Do not tear the back tissue otherwise it will reduce the sound absorption property.
