Chulabhorn Hospital has been a medical care provider and cancer research center since 1987 with excellent services and treatments supporting many patients. The hospital starts its project for expansion to cover a wider range of services and care and hopes to provide more specialists and advanced technology for patients. Therefore, Chulabhorn Hospital prudently considers its choices of wall system, which is a crucial part of the structure to assure safety and maximum utility for its patients.

With safety awareness of inner structure and as a requirement to have extraordinary quality and property, Chulabhorn Hospital sets a high standard for every construction material. As a result, the hospital chooses products from The Siam Gypsum Industry (Saraburi) Co., Ltd., or Elephant Gypsum whose products can be true solutions to every circumstance.

In constructing the extension, the hospital implements various products with different abilities to utilize each one’s full capability including gypsum board “MoldBloc”, a special durable board which is able to endure heavy weights without bending as well as an anti-fungus surface to handle poor ventilation areas. The project also adopts Elephant WeatherBloc, a gypsum ceiling platform created specifically for outdoor or high humidity areas, for example preventing cracks, moisture damage and shrinkage on eaves or in garages. Likewise, Chulabhorn Hospital fulfills its intention with other well-developed materials consisting of “Elephant X-Bloc” a specific type of gypsum wall system which has Barite as a component to protect harmful radioactivity without tainting the material with any quicksilver, and “FIBEROCK® Aqua-Tough™”, a gypsum board crafted significantly to strengthen durability at the molecular level, which can endure and adjust to every type of design and condition.
